Fred and Shari Raske — Gifts That Double in Impact

No, it’s not too good to be true. Fred and Shari Raske feel they’ve experienced a richly rewarding life while they have generously invested in Olivet’s mission.

Fred’s degree from Olivet helped prepare him for a successful career in the pharmaceuticals field. Desiring to be good stewards of God’s blessings, he and Shari have been long-time supporters of the University. One of the significant ways they have given to Olivet is through appreciated stocks. In fact, many alumni and friends donate their company stock that they purchased at a reduced rate – or stock that was a company benefit.

The Raske’s knew to beware of the taxes on the capital gain if they were to simply sell their stock. They encourage others to resolve this issue as they have: explore donating stocks, mutual funds or other property that has increased in value.
